About Us
Ashna Ganatra
Ashna has held a senior leadership role as Team Lead within Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust for the Resourced Provisions Team, where she supported children and young people with complex communication needs. She has combined NHS and independent practice for many
years before moving fully into independent work.
Ashna is also dysphagia trained, enabling her to support children and young people with eating, drinking and swallowing needs alongside their communication difficulties.
She is also a proud mum to a young daughter who attends St Paul’s Girls’ School in Hammersmith, where her clinic is based.
From a young age, Ashna had a strong interest in how people of all abilities interact and communicate. As a teenager, she volunteered with adults and children with special educational needs, which deepened her understanding of how complex communication can
be and how easily it is taken for granted. She went on to study Speech and Language Therapy at City University London and quickly recognised it as her chosen career path. Ashna remains passionate about supporting children and young people to reach their full
potential across all areas of communication.
Ashna has extensive experience working with children and young people presenting with a wide range of speech, language and communication needs (SLCN). She has worked across child development centres, nurseries, community clinics, mainstream and specialist schools, and resourced provisions. Through close collaboration with psychologists, psychiatrists, occupational therapists, paediatricians, physiotherapists, and creative therapists such as music and play therapists, Ashna adopts a holistic and engaging approach, ensuring therapy is both effective and enjoyable.
Ashna has a particular specialist interest in social cognition. Her broad experience across NHS and independent sectors has allowed her to develop a strong and well-rounded clinical skillset. She uses this expertise to support the assessment and identification
of neurodivergent children and young people. She is committed to helping every client achieve their full potential in communication and interaction, using tailored, evidence-based approaches.
She is an active member of professional organisations and special interest groups, regularly attending training and keeping up to date
with current research to ensure high-quality, evidence-based practice.
